If you are coming from a smartphone, it is important to follow the steps below to disable certain messaging settings, including RCS, before switching to the Light Phone III to ensure a smooth as possible transition with existing messaging threads.
If coming from iPhone:
While FaceTime/iMessage/Phone settings are still active on your current iPhone, please individually un-check and deactivate your phone number associated with them in the “You can receive messages to and reply from” section of the Messages app settings (Settings > Messages > Send & Receive). Then disable BOTH iMessage and RCS.
